Pam’s Hooking Up!! Musically.

January 16, 2011 No Comments

When your dreams come true, you have to make new dreams.

As lots of you know, I realized a musical dream when I recorded and launched my debut CD in November.

The tunes were all cover songs, and the music was all pre-recorded backing tracks.

I am still riding the wave, and enjoying all the support and opportunities that have  developed from this project.

Now, I have been presented with an opportunity to perform with a gifted and talented jazz pianist and composer.  Elmer Gibson.

I have known Mr. Gibson for years.  We rehearsed together a long time ago with a band that never really got off the ground.  I was blown away then by his talent and work ethic. Committed.

Our paths crossed recently at Quail Ridge Books + Music.  I was performing and signing copies of my CD.  He was in the audience.

Store owner Nancy Olsen just off the cuff threw out the idea of Elmer and me doing a Valentine’s Day program in February.  It seemed kind of natural as both of our recent music projects were in that vein of love and romance and finding “the one”.

No brainer. That’s what we thought.  Elmer and I are now collaborating on what our performances will look like and how to make sure we touch, move, and inspire every single person who comes out to Quail Ridge.

The date is one y’all need to mark: Friday, Februrary 11th @ 7:30pm.

The show will last only about an hour.  Elmer and I will both have our CD’s available to sell and sign.  My album is called “The Full Measure of a Woman.”  Elmer’s is titled:  “The Loner Hexilogy.”

I see it as a prelude to a weekend for love.  Everyone likes to feel special on Valentine’s Day.  We promise to oblige.

   Onward + Upward!
