What Happens to a Dream Deferred?
August 10, 2010 No CommentsMy Musical Journey, The Personal SideThe future belongs to those who believe in their dreams.
Eleanor RooseveltSoon, I will be debuting my new and first ever CD. What an experience and range of emotions!
There has been a mix of : glee, mis-steps, angst, confusion, ridiculous delays, fear.
I’ve learned a lot along the way.
Two biggies: I am going to have to put on my big girl pants and speak up more when things are not moving along a reasonable course.
What’s more: I am going to have to bite the bullet and spend the money to get the kind of payoff I’ve dreamed about at this point in my musical journey.
I am new on the scene, the project is brand new, and this little musical launch may be little to some, but it is a huge deal to me. Y’all know what they say about first impressions.
To that end, I am making a deal with a local PR/Marketing firm to help me promote my soon to be released album: The Full Measure of a Woman.
Simply reading the guide/objectives I was certain I’d made the right decision. This is going to take work– a good deal of outreach, and I can’t do it alone.
I had to sit down to read the fees for services. However, I am entering into a partnership with a firm that I know gets results. Time and ideas.. they cost money. I get that and am now gung-ho to do this.
The hard work’s about to get harder and invite y’all to watch me learn and watch me grow.
When it comes to my dream of singing, recording, and reaching a bigger and bigger share of listeners, I am in it– to win it!
Onward and Upward!!
