The Fun + Opportunities in Supporting Others
May 4, 2009 No Comments"Life is filled with so many exciting twists and turns. Hop off the straight and narrow whenever you can and take the winding paths. Experience the exhilaration of the view from the edge. Because the moments spent there, that take your breath away, are what make you feel truly alive."

Now that I don’t have a regular singing gig anymore, I am finding it lots of fun to visit the venues of others in the music business.
It’s pleasurable to sit back, relax, and listen to hard work paying off for someone else. I like to hoot and holler, and give hearty applause after a song is finished. I know how it feels when an audience genuinely likes what you do on stage.
This weekend, I was invited to hear a group of singers called "Honey Meade" . Isn’t the name catchy? Well, the four talented women who make up the group don’t just stand on their name. They are impressive and entertaining. Honey Meade performs a Capella and acoustic pieces in the Celtic and renaissance tradition.
I laughed, clapped my hands, and gasped as they did their thing at Napper Tandy’s. It was a great setting to showcase their talents.
Sometimes when you put yourself in these kinds of situations.. where there’s music and musicians all around you… you can never be sure how things will turn out. New connections.. new friendships are possible, if you’re watchful and engaging. I am totally open to widening my network of people who love what they do in this industry.
It’s a joy + a privilege.
